The Fresh AIR program is a collaboration between the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture and the New Brunswick Arts Board (artsnb). The 2021 edition of this program will allow each of the ten professional artists selected to spend five days in provincial parks and tourism sites during the summer. These residencies will allow artists to develop their practice and engage with the public in a natural setting during the challenging reality of COVID-19.

As systems break down, opportunities for creative long-term change begin to emerge. These breakthroughs can lead us toward new ways of governing and new models of economy. The future of humanity and earth’s biophysical systems depend on finding and implementing breakthroughs that are socially just and ecologically regenerative. These dialogues are intended to open up conversations for change in Atlantic Canada.

RESCHEDULED: Stop Spraying New Brunswick Inc media conference (in person and via Zoom)

SSNB's Media Event (report card to elected political parties in the 60th Legislature) will be rescheduled until late August/Early September (Before the Committee on Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability reconvenes).

The media conference will be broadcast live on SSNB’s public Facebook group and we plan to send out a Zoom invite link for media to join on Thursday morning. At the media conference, SSNB will issue a report card for the performance of the four political parties that were elected to the 60th NB Legislature in 2020, in response to a petition with 35,000 hand-written signatures to ban herbicide spraying on public land (crown forests, NB Power right of ways). SSNB will also report on progress of the SSNB  pledge campaign, during which political candidates are asked to sign a pledge form to #StopSprayingNB.

Butterfly release and plants give away

We have plants to give away that are decorative and attractive to pollinators at the same time. To celebrate biodiversity, we will be releasing fifteen Monarch butterflies. Free family activity, but donations are welcome. First activity in green phase!
