Tuesday Talks - Seeing the Bigger Picture of Ocean Conservation
Mardi 18 Février 2020 - 07:00pm - Mardi 18 Février 2020 08:30pm
We’re back for another evening of “Tuesday Talks with CPAWS-NB”!

This February we are welcoming PhD Candidate, Julie Reimer. Julie is a researcher in the Department of Geography at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, where her research explores the role of marine planning and management on the goal of bridging ocean conservation and sustainability.

On February 18th, Julie will be presenting “Seeing the Bigger Picture of Ocean Conservation”. All around the world, the need to protect our oceans is becoming more and more clear, from the United Nations to right here in New Brunswick. Setting sail for ocean sustainability won’t be an easy task, and will need our governments, ocean industries, and coastal communities to come together. This talk will explore the goals that are driving ocean protection in Canada and abroad, the different pathways that lead to a healthy ocean, and what this might mean for the Maritimes.
