Jacquet River Gorge Protected Natural Area
Nature NB

Protected Natural Areas allow for nature to exist with minimal human interference. Nature NB has been working with local nature clubs and the Department of Energy and Resource Development to establish a stewardship group in one of our largest PNAs, the Jacquet River Gorge. Exploring the Gorge’s forests and waterways, one is reminded of Henry David Thoreau’s words, “in wildness is the preservation of the world”. Though protected, this area requires ongoing efforts to manage invasive species, repair signage, and monitor wildlife. Now formally established, our new Stewardship Group will help with these tasks while continuing to celebrate this unique, protected area of the province. These photos were taken during an outing in the PNA where nature club members were trained on citizen science tools. Additional information.

This project will run from April 2018 until March 2019.En Bi Col Tag jpg
